Man with ‘lengthy criminal history’ kept behind bars

A MAN who evaded cops after a group friends were allegedly picked up in a stolen car has fronted court on 41 charges.
The case against Kiren James Hazard will have to be committed to Mackay District Court.
He was arrested on Friday.
He appeared in Mackay Magistrates Court this morning with a bandage around his right wrist and appeared to be holding his stomach.
His solicitor Antoinette Morton said her client had a lengthy criminal history.
The charge list includes seven counts of car theft, 13 counts of break and enter, as well as disqualified driving, evasion, stealing and obstructing police.
Ms Morton ordered briefs of evidence for all indictable matters.
No bail application was made.
The case was adjourned to mid-February for mention.
