A man in his 40s was taken to Mackay Hospital after a car ploughed into a power pole, bringing it down, on Mackay Bucasia Rd in Rural View.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the accident occurred at 8.20am near Rosewood Drive.
The spokesperson said firefighters were there for 40 minutes while Ergon Energy were called and police directed traffic.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics checked over another person, but they declined transport to hospital.
