Do you recognise any of these people? Mackay police believe they may be able to help in investigations from various thefts at Caneland Central.
A review of local crime statistics shows theft in Mackay has reduced from its peak of 397 thefts in August to 290 in October, but data from November is yet to be released.
Statistics for shop stealing have remained consistent though since a spike in April, nearly doubling the amount of shop thefts since March from 26 to 52.
The most recent data shows 50 shop thefts were reported for October, just two less than in September.
Police have released photos of five individuals they want to speak to regarding incidents in the past two months.
Coco Chanel

Police say a bottle of Mademoiselle Coco Chanel was pinched from the display cabinet of a Caneland Central department store.
The incident happened about 12.10pm on Saturday November 27, 2021.
Police believe this person may be able to help officers with an investigation into a shop theft in Caneland Central.
Food caught

Police are on the hunt to find a person who helped themselves to someone else’s bike near the food court at Caneland Central.
The theft happened about 10.30am on Monday October 18, 2021.
Police believe the person pictured may be able to help with investigations into the theft and would like to speak to him.

One keen shopper helped themselves to 10 items of clothing from the boys section of a Caneland Central department store.
The theft occurred about 12.50pm on Saturday November 20, 2021.
Police want to speak to the woman pictured as they believe she may be able to help with investigations.
Wheelie quick getaway

A power-assisted bicycle was taken from a cycle shop in Caneland Central about 3pm on Sunday October 31, 2021.
Police believe the person pictured may be able to help with investigations and would like to speak to him.
iPad up for grabs

A $979 iPad was stolen from a Caneland Central department store about 2pm on Friday October 29.
Police want to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may be able to help with investigations.
