Mackay police are calling for information over a suspected arson that destroyed a Ford Ranger and two-bay shed at Beaconsfield.

The fire was lit sometimes between 1.30 and 3am Wednesday.

Police and fire crews responded to a blaze at the Beaconsfield home and arrived to find flames fully engulfing the motor vehicle.

Detective Acting Inspector Chris Eaton said the Ford Ranger had been parked under a carport.

The vehicle was burnt out as a result of the fire, which then spread to the shed destroying property inside.

Fire investigators and police scenes of crime officers attended the scene.

Inspector Eaton said police believed the fire was suspicious and may have been deliberately lit.

He said police were seeking information or dashcam footage of the area from members of the public as part of their ongoing investigation.
