A Northern Beaches man accused of posing as a yoga instructor and sexually assaulting at least two women will have his matters dealt with in the district court.
Police have alleged he entered a pilates and yoga studio and sexually assaulted two women under the guise of pretending to instruct them in some yoga poses.
The 28 year old was arrested on May 19 and initially charged with sexually assaulting two women.
Police now allege his offending is against up to six different women.
He is charged with three counts of sexual assault that allegedly occurred between April 21 and May 11 this year.
He is also charged with three counts of common assault and one count of enter premises and commit an indictable offence. It is alleged the offending occurred on December 10, 2021, and between May 11 and 14 this year.
The man is further charged with another common assault from an unknown date in 2019.
It is alleged all the offending occurred in the Northern Beaches area.
Under Queensland law anyone charged with a prescribed sexual offence, which includes rape, attempted rape, assault with intent to commit rape and sexual assault, cannot be identified until matters have been committed to the district court and only then if it will not identify any alleged victims.
During a brief mention in Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday defence solicitor Sean Gibbs, of Fisher Dore Lawyers, said paperwork for a registry committal in the matters against his client had been filed, but not processed.
Mr Gibbs asked for a lengthy adjournment for the process to be completed.
Matters were adjourned to later in the year.
