Emergency crews on scene at serious crash at Marlborough
A 12-year-old boy was critically injured on December 22 after he was flung from a vehicle in a horror crash involving a caravan between Mackay and Rockhampton, the second in the same area in barely three weeks.

In a positive turn of events, one of the teens from the Marlborough crash on December 22 has been discharged from hospital in time for Christmas.
The other boy, aged 12, remains in Rockhampton Hospital and has been downgraded from a serious condition to a stable condition.
He was flung from a vehicle in a horror crash involving a caravan on the Bruce Highway between Mackay and Rockhampton, suffering life-threatening injuries
One of the vehicles had been towing a caravan and as a result of the collision this vehicle has flipped and ended up on its roof.
The second vehicle was also significantly damaged.
It is understood as a result of the crash the 12-year-old was thrown from one of the vehicles.
A CapRescue spokesperson said the rescue chopper was called to the Marlborough Rd and Bruce Highway intersection about 7.45am after a collision between two 4WDs.
Paramedics and an on-board medical team from the rescue chopper worked to stabilise the 12-year-old after he was ejected from the vehicle he had been travelling in.
The 12-year-old boy was flown to Rockhampton Base Hospital in a critical condition following the accident.
The second boy was driven to hospital in an ambulance.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics treated five people, two people with life-threatening injuries and another three for potentially life-threatening injuries.
A woman in her 60s suffered chest pain, a man in his 60s suffered shoulder pain and a woman in her 30s suffered minor injuries, and it is understood all three are in a stable condition.
It is understood the two children and three adults will be taken to Rockhampton Hospital.
Both vehicles are off the road and the highway is open.
Police, fire, paramedic crews and two rescue choppers, including the BMA CQ Rescue crew, were called to the scene to help with the five patients, who of who were critically injured in the crash.
This just weeks after a serious crash at the same site that claimed the life of 23-year-old man, left another man in his 50s seriously injured and shut the highway north of Rockhampton for 13 hours.
On December 5 a truck and ute collided initially trapping the ute driver in the vehicle. He was extricated and taken to Rockhampton Hospital.
