An argument about pies was behind the assault of two women at a Central Queensland home, a court has heard.
Childcare worker Eryn Emily Burgoyne, 19, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to charges including common assault (domestic violence offence).
The court heard that at 12.40pm on June 8, police were called to a disturbance at a Boyne Island residence.
When they arrived, they heard a woman scream “f***ing bitch”.
Police found four women inside.
The court heard Burgoyne told police there had been an argument about pies after she’d gone to buy some and the store had run out.
During the argument, Burgoyne made the comment there were no pies “because all the drunk people come and get them.”
One of the other women then said, “no they didn’t” and the verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation, the court heard.
It was told two of the females “bear hugged” Burgoyne to prevent an assault from happening but this resulted in the two females being assaulted.
The victims suffered cuts and scratches.
The court heard Burgoyne admitted to police she went “pretty feral” during the incident, and she had used slurs including saying: “F*** you sl**, go die.”
She had no criminal history.
Solicitor Jun Pepito said Burgoyne, a childcare officer, suffered from anxiety and depression and at the time of the incident, she was not taking her medication.
Magistrate Mary Buchanan placed Burgoyne on a nine-month good behaviour order with a $500 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
