A Mackay glamour charged over two separate alleged drug ventures has asked a court for reduced reporting conditions arguing it “interferes with my work”.

The mum of three and business owner must report to police three times a week as part of her stringent bail requirements.

Mackay Magistrates Court heard there would be a three-month delay in her case as critical evidence was obtained.

Ms Smith is facing more than 40 charges following two separate arrests in March 2020 and April 2021 over drug-related allegations in Mackay.

She fronted court on Monday so she could be placed on one bail for all the charges.

It is alleged she possessed an aggravated amount of ice as well as cash from drug trafficking sales after police raided her home in April 2021.

Ms Smith is also charged with being a player in an ice trafficking gang linked to the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle gang following police operation Romeo Suitcase targeting an alleged network spanning from the Gold Coast to Cairns.

She was charged with two counts of trafficking between November 2018 and March 2020, and supplying dangerous drugs following her arrest in 2020.

Ms Smith appeared in court on August 16 to amalgamate her two bail orders and was told her case would be back on November 17 for committal mention.

The court heard the reason for the delay was so the drug analysis certificate could be produced.

Police prosecutor Harry Coburn also replaced one of her charges.

Receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying was replaced with possessing property suspected of being drug proceeds in relation to cash seized on April 29.

Ms Smith also asked the magistrate to vary her bail conditions yet again in the hopes to minimise her reporting frequency.

The court heard Ms Smith currently reports three times a week, but the beauty worker argued it was beginning to affect her business.

“I work five days a week and it interferes with my work,” she said.

Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan told Smith she would need to seek formal avenues to apply for such a change, but encouraged her to try.

“Your matter is going to go on for a very long time,” Mrs Hartigan said.
