A teen at the wheel in a fatal crash in Nebo has faced court for the first time.
Bowen teenager Brett Daniel Matton is charged with driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention, causing the death of his best friend Ethan James Durnsford.
The court heard the crash happened on the Peak Downs Highway on August 8, 2021.
Mr Matton sought to adjourn the matter to obtain legal advice when he appeared in Mackay Magistrates Court.
The 18 year old was granted the adjournment and is expected to appear in court on November 9.
Mr Matton was allowed bail with no conditions.
