Man injured after crashing car into tree off Bruce Highway in Chelona

A man is being assessed by paramedics after a high impact crash on the Bruce Highway.

A man is being treated by paramedics after a ‘high impact’ crash into a tree south of Mackay.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Chelona near the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Chrouchs Road just after 3pm.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said they were treating a man with pelvic and chest injuries after the “high impact” crash.

He was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a ‘stable’ condition.

The Queensland Fire Department sent three crews to the crash, who have since left the scene.

Traffic is flowing normally.
