Mackay’s Tia Gostelow up for two awards at the National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin

A Mackay talent taking the musical world by storm has been recognised for her efforts with two nominations at an annual awards ceremony.
Tia Gostelow, who has been nominated for her album Chrysalis, will have the chance to take home the Album of the Year and the Film Clip of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin.
Gostelow, originally from Mackay, has transformed into one of Australia’s most exciting stars who is making her mark on the music industry.
She was the youngest ever recipient of the Queensland Music Award Album of the Year in 2019 for her debut Thick Skin.
The chance to win further awards will add another feather to her cap and give Gostelow a chance to cement herself as one of Australia’s trending music talents.
Gostelow will face tough competition with global talents like The Kid LAROI, Baker Boy and Benny Walker also nominated in the same categories.
NIMA’s creative director Ben Graetz said he was thrilled to have the calibre of talent nominated for the awards.
“The finalists are some of the most talented musicians across the country and the world,” he said.
“We are proud to be able to provide a platform for their musical craft to be recognised.”
