Mackay restaurants food safety inspection ratings

Seven Mackay businesses failed their eat safe food inspections. On the flip side of the plate, four businesses can now boast five-star ratings. FULL LIST.

Four more Mackay businesses have attained a five-star eat safe rating recognising them as excellent performers.

They are Yaw Foods cafe in Gregory Street, Hot Tots Educational Centre along Paget Street, Good Start Early Learning in Eimeo and Alcorns Bakery Mackay in Andergrove.

Of the 51 businesses Mackay Regional Council recently inspected, seven were classified at five-star, six at four-star and 31 at three-star.

And seven business were reported to have below standard safety standards with five scoring a two-star rating and two scoring a zero-star.

There are currently 649 Mackay restaurants with an eat safe overall rating with the majority achieving a three-star rating or higher meaning they had a good or better level of compliance with food safety standards.

Eleven have a two-star rating and six have a zero-star.

Only businesses with three-stars or higher are listed on the council website.

Food businesses may also not be listed below as disclosing health ratings is voluntary.

Food vendors may also not be listed if they have not paid their annual food licence fee or if the business has recently opened or changed owners and has not been audited yet.
