First stage of Rural View development about to open

The KFC sign is up and the final touches are being made. But it is only the beginning.

GET EXCITED, Northern Beaches. KFC will open its doors at Rural View in a matter of days.

Many residents have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Stockwell development, which is across the road from the Mackay Northern Beaches Police Station.

A Stockwell spokeswoman said three new tenancies were currently under construction.

"Development works at Northern Beaches Central are progressing well, with the first of the three tenancies set to open next week," the spokeswoman said.

"KFC will open its doors to customers on Tuesday, November 19 and will deliver more than 40 jobs to the local area.

"Stockwell will also deliver a new Hungry Jacks and a petrol station at this development site. "They are estimated to open early next year. The opening of the KFC, Hungry Jacks and the petrol station provides increased dining options and convenience for local residents."

The developer said this marked the start of the next phase of its vision for the Northern Beaches.

"This vision includes Stockwell's latest retail and commercial project, Northern Beaches Emporium, located on the corner of Eimeo Road and Carl Street," the spokeswoman said. "Northern Beaches Emporium is designed as an extension of Northern Beaches Central, and provides larger floor plan retail and showroom tenants.

"It will incorporate two fast food drive-thrus, a service station, and more than 4500 sq m of retail/showroom space.

"Stockwell are targeting development approval by the end of 2019, with construction to commence early in 2020. This will allow for an anticipated opening prior to Christmas 2020."
