An East Mackay two-storey house burned down on Saturday night, with fire services needing more than half an hour to get the flames under control.
A QFES spokesman said six fire crews were called to the house on Grant St about 6.30pm on Saturday.
The fire wasn’t deemed under control until 7.05pm and the emergency services stayed at the scene until 1.15am on Sunday.
It is understood no one was in the house at the time of the blaze.
A QAS spokeswoman said ambulances remained on standby at the scene, but no one required treatment.
The fire fully destroyed the wooden elements in the house with only the structure remaining.
A crime scene has been established and a fire investigator was expected to attend the scene and investigate the cause.
