A firefighter was assessed for heat related symptoms after working to contain a blaze that broke inside a caravan at Andergrove.
It is understood the blaze may have been an accidental stove fire and has significantly damaged the van.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said three crews in total were called to the scene, the first two arriving about 10.30am following reports of smoke billowing from a caravan at the Andergrove Van Park on Beaconsfield Road East.

Fire crews gained entry to the van and all persons were accounted for, the QFD spokeswoman said.

Crews were then working hard to fight the fire which had moved outside the van, preventing it from spreading further.

It is understood one of the firies needed to be assessed by paramedics for heat related symptoms.

It did not take long for crews to douse the fire and move on to venting the caravan and testing the area.

The scene was handed back to Andergrove Van Park management at 12.30.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman two crews were called to the address where paramedics assessed two patients.

A man in his 50s was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A man in his 70s who is believed to be the occupant of the van was not transported.
