Fire breaks out at Eimeo Pacific Hotel

Paramedics and firefighters have extinguished a fire which broke out in the kitchen of a popular Mackay hotel.

A kitchen fire has broken out at a popular Mackay hotel, sparking an evacuation.

Paramedics and firefighters were called to the Eimeo Pacific Hotel on Mango Ave in Mackay’s north at around 1.30 today to a reported fryer on fire.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said two paramedic crews were called to the scene, but there were no reported injuries.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the blaze was extinguished by 1.50pm, shortly before the fire department arrived.
