If you fancy catching some of Australia’s iconic artists this summer, you don’t need to look further than Mackay’s backyard.

The co-director of Mackay’s famed River Sessions festival Michael Delaney along with his team at Tropical Ent are well aware of Mackay’s appetite for world class acts — confirmed by the success of the recent Rhythm & the Reef festival and the impending Backyard Series.

For the latest endeavour, Mr Delaney’s team has secured some of Australia’s favourite artists along with brightest up-and-comers to launch the inaugural b.social festival in December.

Planned for Wednesday December 29, organisers are hoping to transform the “sleepy period between Christmas and New Years” into a high energy celebration.

Mega-act Masked Wolf will headline with Queensland’s own superstars Jungle Giants dropping their instruments and hitting the decks for a one-off DJ set.

Sneaky Sound System, Choomba, Tigerlily, Latifa Tee, Teleena, Jordan Burns and Silky Fuzz are all on the bill with more acts to be announced.

Organiser’s are aiming to make b.social the “largest non-touring single-day music festival”, with plans to replicate River Session and “bring together a widespread North Queensland community to share in great food, drink and music”.

“b.social is about the push for social interaction which is something that the whole world has suffered from — something humans are not meant to endure,” Mr Delaney said.

“Even though North Queensland is considered low risk we are working with key stakeholders to ensure that we greatly minimise the risk of Covid-19 while putting on a stella event for people to get out and enjoy live music with friends ”

Presale tickets will be available here from Friday October 15 from 4.30pm AEST and general admission from 4.30pm Saturday October 16.
