Proserpine crash shuts Bruce Highway near Myrtlevale

Fire, ambulance and police attended the scene of the two-vehicle crash north of Proserpine.

Three children and a woman in her 20s have been taken to Proserpine Hospital in a stable condition following a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway north of Proserpine.

It is understood a truck and a car were involved in the smash at the intersection of Sawmill Dr and the highway at Myrtlevale.

Police were called to the incident at about 1.10pm and closed the highway in both directions.

A QFES spokesman said the woman was initially encapsulated.

The woman suffered minor head, neck and hip injuries.

A male teen was taken to hospital as a precaution along with two female children, one with a minor head injury.

A police spokesman said the highway was reopened at about 2.30pm.
