Mackay singer-songwriter Tiffany Grace is hitting the right notes for success and is returning to the studio with definite plans for a busier year.

The new year is already shaping as a pivotal one for Mackay singer-songwriter Tiffany Grace in her career.

After a live performance at Saturday’s New Year’s Eve River Party at Bluewater Quay, the 18-year-old has set her sights on recording more of her songs.

She will be heading back to the studios in Brisbane next month to record more of her work.

“I’ll be going to the studio more often (this year). I’m planning to do an EP,” Grace said.

This means a return to Analog Heart Records in Brisbane in February for 10 days to record three more of her songs. The studio is run by ARIA award-nominated producer Stuart Stuart whose clients include The Veronicas, Sheppard and Dean Lewis.

“I’ll be booking gigs around Mackay and starting to hit Airlie (Beach),” Grace said of her plans.

“I’ll keep writing songs so maybe an (EP) album may be done this year.”

Tiffany has written 13 songs but only recorded two so far: Perfectly Imperfect and You Needed Me, both released in 2022.

“I would like to be an independent artist so I’m going to put everything into it,” Grace said.

Grace has been singing and playing the acoustic guitar for three years and enjoys both equally.

“I learnt to play the guitar to help with my singing but I grew to love the guitar,” she said.

“Writing songs makes me feel better. It allows me to express my feelings.”

She has been buoyed by the support of her parents and brother.

“My family is very proud. They have given me great support,” she said.

Grace won the 2022 Young Whitsundays Got Talent show and performed at the Airlie Beach Festival of Music as a result. When she was 14, she was part of a group that performed at the Arts International Showcase in Los Angeles, which she said was a “great experience”.

She also performed at Tamworth in 2021.

Almost inevitably, as her career continues to grow, the big city is starting to beckon.

“I am thinking about moving to Brisbane,” she said.

When that will happen has not been finalised but Grace has already been preparing for the challenges ahead.

“There have been a lot of rejections,” she said of her singing career.

“You have to deal with it and just keep going.”
