Loved ones are rallying behind the family of a woman who died suddenly, sparking a crime scene and police investigation, with a crowdsourcing platform already raising thousands for her children.
Family members found Casandra Townsend, 37, at her Beaconsfield home in the afternoon on January 8 - tragically she had passed away from a rare heart condition. Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
The mum of two, who has been labelled as bubbly, happy and optimistic, was farewelled at a heartbreaking service held on Tuesday on the Sunshine Coast, with special mention of her love of dancing.
She has been described as someone who could “light up any room” and how she always found a way to make someone’s day a little brighter.
Her close friend Kate Wilson has started a GoFundMe, which has already raised $2470 that will go to her children and family.
“Our beloved Cassie (Casandra) Townsend suddenly passed away... leaving a ginormous hole in the hearts of her family, friends and everyone who knew her.
“As a close friend and one of the Godparents to her children, I would like to raise funds to help the family with funeral costs and to support her two young children aged nearly two and four years old who she loved immensely and was entirely devoted to.
“Cassie was known for always going above and beyond to help people throughout her life without expecting anything in return.
“I would like to honour her generosity during this devastating time to help support her family and children financially.”
