A dramatic two-vehicle crash has shut down the Bruce Highway in North Queensland.

One vehicle was towing a caravan.

The crash blocked both lanes of traffic near Bowen’s famous Big Manog landmark, south of the town.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics assessed seven patients.

The paramedics took a 35-year-old female with cervical-spine pain to Bowen Hospital in a stable condition.

The other six patients declined further treatment.

Two fire crews were dispatched to the scene at 4.43pm, arriving there within 10 minutes.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the crews had to remove the A, B and C pillars off one of the vehicles to safely remove a patient for the QAS.

“Basically the whole side of the car,” he said.

The police are on scene directing traffic.

The incident is ongoing.
