A man is in a serious condition after a fire accelerant was ignited at a Bowen property.

A Queensland Ambulance Spokeswoman said crews were called to the private Bowen home about 12.30am on Sunday.

She said a man in his 30s was being treated for burns to his chest, arms and back.

Reports indicate the cause of the incident was from an “accelerant on fire”, likely fuel.

The spokeswoman said the man was taken to Bowen Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Cyclist in collision with car near Mackay Showgrounds

Paramedics are assessing a woman after a bicycle and car collided outside the Mackay Showgrounds.

A Queensland Ambulance Spokeswoman said the crash happened on Shakespeare Street at 2.35pm.

She said the woman was in a stable condition with no obvious injuries and was reported to be walking around.

In an unrelated incident, a car and motorbike have collided at the intersection of Schaefer and Holland Street in West Mackay at 2.30pm.

The spokeswoman said there appeared to be no injuries.

Three men in hospital after car hits kangaroo at Bowen

Three men were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car hit a kangaroo at Bowen.

A man in his 40s was initially trapped in the vehicle and suffered significant leg and arm injuries and neck pain.

The crash occurred about 1.39am Thursday on the Peter Delemonthe Road.

A man in his 20s suffered a leg injury while a man in his 30s received chest and leg injuries. All three were taken to Bowen Hospital in stable conditions.

Stolen car crashes into light pole at North Mackay

Police are investigating after a stolen car crashed into a light pole at North Mackay and at least four people were seen fleeing the scene.

The silver Nissan Navara was reportedly pinched from a Brisbane St home at an unknown time before the crash incident about 5.20am Thursday at the Barnes Creek Road and Sams Road intersection.

A police media spokesman said reported suggested wires from the light pole had fallen down on the vehicle.

Emergency crews including police and firefighters were called to the scene.

The spokesman said up to four people were scene running from the scene, but no one had been arrested yet.

Investigations are continuing.

Man suffers head, stomach, arm injuries in serious highway crash at Hampden

Critical care paramedics were called to a serious highway crash between a truck and a vehicle at Hampden.

A man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition following the Bruce Highway Collision about 4.30am.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the man, who was travelling in the vehicle, suffered head, stomach and arm injuries.

It is understood the vehicle collided with the back of the truck. A police spokeswoman said the incident site was cleared by 6am.

Man in hospital after two-vehicle crash in Proserpine

A man was taken to hospital after a two vehicle crash with crews forced to remove the door to get access to the car’s occupant.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said crews were called the crash at the intersection of Chapman and Marathon Street at 4.55pm.

The spokeswoman said while no one was entrapped in the car, crews were forced to remove a door to get an occupant out of the car.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 50s was taken to Proserpine Hospital in a stable condition with neck and chest pains.

She said two other people were involved in the crash but appeared unharmed.

They declined to be taken to hospital.

Two-vehicle crash lands person in Moranbah Hospital

Monday

One person has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Moranbah.

A police spokesman said the crash happened at the intersection of Colliery Street and Industrial Avenue about 5.15am.

He said one person was taken to Moranbah hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

The spokesman said the road was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
