Car left sideways after dangerous head on collision in Nebo

An elderly man was left with severe lacerations after two vehicles collided on the Peak Downs Highway, leaving one on its side.

A car has ended up on its side after a head on collision which left an elderly man with severe cuts to his arms.

Police and ambulance were called to a collision involving two four-wheel-drives off the Peak Downs Highway on Suttor Development Road in Nebo.

A man and woman in their 70s were transported to Mackay Hospital, the man suffering severe lacerations to his arm, according to a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson.

It is believed they are both in a stable condition.

The driver of the car which upended itself only suffered minor injuries and declined further assessment.

Police crew are still attending the scene with no road closures reported.
