NEW additions to any family are always exciting and North Jacklin's takeover of Carlisle Motors on February 29 is no exception.
Uniting two of Mackay's most respected car dealerships, North Jacklin's expansion will bring a new phase to the businesses' long established reputation, with an increased range, allied to the dealerships proud mantra of 'treating every customer as part of the North Jacklin family.'
For more than half a century North Jacklin and Carlisle Motors have provided outstanding service, advice and after sales assistance to car buyers in the Mackay region.
North Jacklin Motors humble beginnings saw founders North and Judy Jacklin establish a dealership with a focus from originally selling the Austin Morris, was to always put the customer first.
Over the years the Mackay family dealership has evolved with the motor industry, providing customers with greater choice in the range of vehicles and services available.
"With owner Richard (Deguara) retiring from Carlisle's car dealership we took up the opportunity to expand our range and presence in the Mackay car market, by extending our business to take in another very well-respected dealership and the large range of vehicles they have to offer," North Jacklin owner John Nash said.
With the extended range North Jacklin will be expanding the Mitsubishi showroom onto the corner of Gregory and Gordon Sts, giving greater street presence to the range of vehicles North Jacklin will now be selling.
The takeover will unify some of the biggest road going and motorsports rivalries with the likes of Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Honda and Mercedes all available.
Taking charge of North Jacklin's extended range, principal Joe Watson will be responsible for the newest additions to North Jacklin's dealership family.
Marketing director for North Jacklin, Brad Doolan said, "The biggest change will be the greater range of vehicles North Jacklin has to offer. We are proud to be adding the likes of Mitsubishi, Honda and Mercedes to the family. The quality of these vehicles is in line with the Nissan and Subaru brands we offer. The takeover will be great for us, but even better for locals looking to get the best deal on a great car."

Taking over
Carlisle Motors will expand North Jacklin's share of the local new car market to around 25%.
With the dealership able to offer the likes of the Mitsubishi Triton alongside the Nissan Navara and the Subaru Liberty as well as the Honda Accord adding greater options to the class-leading cars under North Jacklin's dealership banner.
