Sweet tooths will soon have a new riverside destination to salivate over as a Mackay family prepares to overhaul their cafe.
There will be a brand new dessert menu as well as more breakfast options and an expanded offering of cocktails.
Laffos Bar and Pizzeria owner Mark Laffin said they would temporarily close on Tuesday October 5 for a few weeks while they increased their floor space by about 50 per cent.
The father-of-two said Lend Lease had worked with them on their ambition to expand the restaurant into the former Blue Illusions store.
“We’ve been going well here, but the kitchen in this venue is too small,” Mr Laffin said.
He assured their drawcard wood-fired pizzas were staying put but said he was excited to introduce more options including a reuben eggs Benedict.
“It’s basically corn meat, sauerkraut and Russian dressing,” he said, adding they had experimented to get the combination on point.
Mr Laffin said they were also redoing the bar for those keen on after-works drinks or a weekend catch-up.
“We’re going to have a very expansive cocktail list,” he said.
The restaurant is expected to reopen by the last week of October.
