Building evacuated after gas leak outside Pioneer State High School

A building has been evacuated after a reported gas leak outside a Mackay high school, which is not believed to have been affected.

A building has been evacuated outside a Mackay high school after reports of a gas leak.

Firefighters were called to Celeber Dr just outside Pioneer State High School just before 9am after reports of a broken gas pipe.

An exclusionary zone was put in place while crew examined the cause of the incident.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the leak had been “isolated and contained” after 9am.
