Two men found with a mannequin and two slabs of booze on the roof of a commercial building, requiring rescue in the early hours of the morning, have been fined.
Police allege the men were at a Victoria St hotel when they took the cartons and a mannequin and climbed onto the roof through an interior hatch door.
“Both men allegedly climbed onto the roof, taking the alcohol and mannequin with them,” Senior Constable Steve Smith said.
The booze and mannequin were abandoned, however, when police allege the pair ran away and jumped onto a lower neighbouring roof.
“The activities of the two men were allegedly overheard by staff who contacted police,” Senior Constable Smith said.
Firefighters were called to rescue the men about 1.23am.
A Cleveland man, 24, and Mackay man, 23, were issued with on-the-spot fines of $275 for participating in unregulated high risk behaviour.
