Friends and family of two young riders killed in separate motorbike crashes at the weekend have paid tribute to the men with their whole lives ahead of them.
Linkon Tuari is being remembered as a loyal and loving friend, brother and son after a dirt bike crashed into a tree on a private property at Coomera on Saturday.
Tributes have begun flowing online for the young man who was weeks from celebrating his 21st birthday.
“Over the weekend another Angel grew their wings,” a friend wrote on a GoFundMe page.
“Our dear Poppy and Abe lost their only son Linkon in a tragic motorbike accident on the Gold Coast.”
Friends took to social media to pay tribute to Linkon who also leaves behind two sisters.
“Rest in love Linkon Dziah Tuari. One of very few loyal, loving, soft friends …” a friend wrote.
“Hearing about this news yesterday shattered my heart into a million pieces …” another said.
The GoFund Me is aimed at raising funds for Linkon’s funeral.
“As we know in time of grief we don’t work and so this is why I have made this page to help the whanau raise some funds to cover funeral expenses,” the page stated.
“Due to Covid restrictions they can’t go back home to NZ.”
Linkon was the second young rider to lose his life on a South East Queensland road after a crash at Mount Gravatt claimed the life of a 19-year-old early on Saturday.
Friends of AJ Sahota are remembering the former Macgregor State High School student for his talent and passion for music after a motorbike collided with a ute towing a boat on the Pacific Motorway about 4.25am.
“He was truly such a friendly, loveable and beautiful man,” a school friend told The Courier-Mail.
“He was that one guy who was always there to stick by your side whenever you were down.”
Police appealed for dashcam footage after the crash but a spokeswoman said there was no major suggestion the driver of the ute was at fault.
