We had an overwhelming response to our search to crown Ipswich’s cutest baby for 2021 and the competition was so tight, we had two winners.

The support for two local bubs was so strong, they couldn’t be split.

Paisley and Anthea, both four-months-old, are joint winners after they both secured 17 per cent of the vote.

Hairdresser Shelley Gehrke entered her daughter Anthea in the competition as she “brings so much joy, to family, friends and strangers”.

Anthea was voted as joint-winner of Ipswich’s cutest baby competition.

“It is beautiful when in times like this a cheeky little smile or a poke out of the tongue can make a huge difference to someone’s day,” she wrote.

Ms Gehrke said Anthea’s love for the camera likely started after she had a photo shoot with Buttons and Bows Photography in Springfield when she was just 10 days old.

The Yamanto bub loves to go swimming at the Orion Lagoon and at the new pool in the Yamanto Central shopping centre, with visits to the library with her grandmother also a favourite.

The first Father’s Day for her dad Andrew involved a “home-built” camping trip to Canada with no travel required and a pretend campfire.

Ms Gehrke said there were plenty of free programs on offer across Ipswich to help little brains and bodies develop but it would took a little “imagination and research” to find them.

Crystal Brown said daughter Paisley welcomed everyone with a “cheeky smile and shining personality”.

“She is a complete daddy’s girl and likes to spend anytime she can with him,” she said.

“She loves being on planes to visit her aunty and cousins who are both boys. She’s not afraid to stand up for herself and show them who’s boss.

“She deserves this title because she loves to accessorise with the cutest shoes and bows, as soon as she sees the camera she turns into a little poser with the cheekiest smile.”

Thank you to everyone who submitted their entries and for voting.
