A Brisbane man has failed to appear in court after a police heroin trafficking raid on a house and restaurant allegedly found almost $1 million worth of cash and stolen property.
Van Dat Vu, 62, of Durack, was a no-show at Richlands Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, October 8, despite already having received a notice to appear.
Almost $1 million in cash and stolen property was allegedly found at his home and a restaurant linked to Mr Vu during a drug raid by police in September.
Acacia Ridge detectives alleged Mr Vu was selling heroin in the area.
Police allegedly found drugs at his Cintra St property and a restaurant on Darra Station Rd and almost $1 million of stolen property and cash.
The allegedly stolen property included tools, high-end designer clothing and accessories, electrical goods, alcohol, firearms and cash.
The arrest was part of Operation Uniform Zythos which targeted drug trafficking in Durack and Darra.
Detectives identified an alleged sophisticated syndicate of drug trafficking where some customers were paying for drugs with stolen goods.
Police alleged the stolen goods were then sold through local markets.
Mr Vu was arrested and charged with one count of trafficking dangerous drugs and three counts of possession of dangerous drugs (heroin), possession of property used in the commission of a crime, possession of property obtained from trafficking a dangerous drug (cash) and receiving tainted property.
The court heard Mr Vu had been released from custody and granted bail by the Supreme Court on October 19.
He was also charged with one count of contravening an order to access information stored electronically after refusing to hand over his phone passcode.
Mr Vu’s charges were adjourned to November 22 for committal mention in Richlands Magistrates Court.
