New data revealed four Ipswich suburbs recorded more than 1000 Covid-19 cases. Here’s a breakdown of every suburb:

Queensland records 9,630 new COVID-19 cases and 16 further deaths

The number of Covid-19 cases across Ipswich are still rising although a significant drop in weekly numbers suggests the region may be through the other side of the peak.

As of Wednesday, February 2, Ipswich recorded 14,995 Covid-19 cases since opening borders on December 13.

In the span of a week the region’s cases rose by just 1974 compared to 2337 in the previous week.

If cases continue to fall, Ipswich’s peak occurred about mid-January when cases rose by 5000 between January 15 and 19.

New data released by Queensland Health on Wednesday, February 2, shows that Redbank Plains, Springfield Lakes, and Redbank/Collingwood Park continue to record the highest number of local cases.

Since the Omicron wave began at least 2395 Redbank Plains residents have tested positive, with 1525 at Springfield Lakes, 1052 at Collingwood Park/Redbank, and 1030 at Raceview.

Statewide 89.63 per cent of Queenslanders are fully vaccinated and 92.03 per cent had their first dose.

While cases in Ipswich are dropping in number, Queensland recorded 9630 cases overnight and 16 people died with Covid.
