Mr Stubbs was engaged to be married and his heartbroken partner thanked her friends and family for their messages of support, indicating she was too overwhelmed to respond.

“I appreciate all of the messages and support but I just can’t right now,” she said.

A friend responded saying her “heart hurts” for her and Mr Stubbs’ family.

“This world is so cruel,” she said.

Mr Stubbs previously lived in Hervey Bay and worked at JNL Custom Offroad, which specialised in custom built off-road accessories for 4WDs, caravans and trailers, according to information from its Facebook page.

Mr Stubbs moved to Brisbane in September 2019, according to his Facebook timeline.

Police have urged anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage of Bronze St, which is lined with commercial businesses, to come forward.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
