A man who allegedly burned down a house in Ipswich on February 28 and stole a man’s motorcycle at knife-point has faced a Logan court.
Ripley man Trent Matthew Strange, 33, fronted Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday, March 1 on charges of arson, attempted robbery, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage.
He was also charged with possessing a dangerous drug, possessing tainted property, and disqualified driving.
Police allege a house on Maguire St in Ripley was deliberately set on fire at 6.15am on February 28 and left significantly damaged.
No one was inside the property at the time.
It is alleged Mr Strange fled from the scene and drove to a service station on Shepherds Rd in Greenbank, where police allege he threatened a 32-year-old man with a knife and demanded his motorcycle.
He was restrained at the scene by members of the public until police arrived a short time later.
Beenleigh Magistrates Court heard the arson charge would be transferred to Ipswich Magistrates Court for a mention on March 15.
The other charges will be adjourned to Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 5 and April 19 for a committal mention.
Mr Strange will remain remanded in custody.
