Teen charged: Police investigations continue after man found with significant injuries at Springfield Lakes
Charges have been laid against a teenage boy after a man was found with serious injuries at a local park in an Ipswich suburb on the early hours of last Wednesday morning.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a man was found with serious injuries close to a park in Springfield Lakes.
Detectives from the Ipswich Police District allege around 3:40am on March 27, the 14-year-old Springfield Lakes boy punched and kicked the victim at a location along Springfield Lakes Boulevard.
Police say officers were called to a location along Springfield Lakes Boulevard in the early hours of March 27, where a 37-year-old man was found with significant injuries.
Police believe that the man had been walking throughout the Springfield Lakes area between a park and local tennis courts prior to the incident.
The 37-year-old Springfield Lakes man was transported to hospital with face, head and upper torso injuries, where he remains in a serious condition.
Yesterday, police issued a media release appealing for public assistance with any information regarding the alleged grievous bodily harm incident.
As a result of this public assistance, the 14-year-old Springfield Lakes boy was charged with one count each of acts to cause grievous bodily harm, personal violence and deprivation of liberty.
The boy will appear in Ipswich Children’s Court today.
Anyone who may have seen anyone in this area between 11pm on Tuesday, March 26 and 6am on Wednesday, March 27 is being urged to contact police.
Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from this area, and between these times to come forward.
The investigation is ongoing.
