A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after a traffic incident involving a truck on a busy Ipswich road.
The incident happened about 1.20pm on the corner of East and South streets.
The pedestrian was taken to Ipswich Hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
Major traffic delays were sparked across the CBD, with East Street closed between Roderick and Limestone streets.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area or to expect significant delays.
Police and the Forensic Crash Unit were still at the scene, as at 3pm.
