A Belmont massage therapist has told a court he was “clueless’’ about allegations of rape and sexual assault made against him.
Min-Hsun Chang, 73, was charged with six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
He faced the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Friday, 21 June.
The court previously heard all offences were alleged to have been committed against the same person on January 5 last year in Newtown, Ipswich.
Via an interpreter, he told Magistrate Dennis Kinsella that he had no lawyer representing him and had no intention of hiring one.
He also said he was retired and had no idea what was going on.
Magistrate Kinsella told him the matter would go to a superior court which would prove fairly complicated for someone representing themselves and suggested Mr Chang seek legal aid.
He enlarged Mr Chang’s bail.
The matter was adjourned to the same court on July 5.
