An Ipswich mum said she is simply “not the same person” following an alleged violent carjacking attempt at a Booval drive through over the weekend.

Police allege Jake Jefferson Peters, 25, approached 41-year-old Bundamba mum Elaine Rose while she was at a Zarraffa’s coffee drive-through on Saturday, April 1.

It is alleged Mr Peters was armed with a knife and attempted to steal Ms Rose’s car.

Police allege he then became involved in a physical altercation with a 25-year-old East Ipswich father who had attempted to intervene.

It is understood that the East Ipswich father, his two year old daughter, and Ms Rose each sustained minor injuries during the incident and were treated at Ipswich Hospital.

The two-year-old girl’s grandmother confirmed the child was okay and was now being pampered with toys and chocolate.

Ms Rose told The Queensland Times she was in “quite a bit of pain” and struggling emotionally after the incident.

“I have bruises all on my left side and cant sleep on that side.

She also praised the bystanders who came to her aid.

Ms Rose said her injuries and thoughts about the incident were making it hard for her to relax and sleep.

“My head is constantly thinking,” she said.

“I’m not the same person I was. I’m emotional, scared, frustrated, angry, hurt.

“It’s so many emotions in a circle that just goes around and around”.

The mother of two is being well taken care of by her two adult sons, who have been driving her to appointments with her doctor.

She said she was very glad to have them, and that she was grateful to have received so many messages of support from the community.

Ms Rose posted on Facebook after the incident: “Thank you again to everyone that helped me”.

Ms Rose said it was “just a little reminder to keep all doors locked when driving as you have no idea who else is around”.

Mr Peters stands charged with 13 offences including three counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and one count each of attempted armed robbery and deprivation of liberty.

He was also charged with three counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and individual counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent, failing to dispose of a needle, obstructing police, possessing dangerous drugs and stealing.

He was mentioned in Richlands Magistrates Court yesterday, April 3, and made no application for bail.

He was remanded in custody for mention on May 29.
