A house at Ipswich has been declared a crime scene after a ferocious fire tore through it on Sunday evening.
Firefighters were called out to the fire at 21 Frank St, Ebbw Vale, with the first of six crews arriving about 6pm.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said they arrived to find a low-set weatherboard Queenslander was 70 per cent engulfed in flames.
No injuries were reported and the fire was under control by 6.30pm.
“It was declared completely out by around 8.35pm,” the spokeswoman said.
Firefighters evacuated, leaving the scene in the hands of police.
“We also notified our fire investigation unit,” the QFRS spokeswoman said.
“We’ll be working in partnership with police moving forward.”
A police spokeswoman said the house was vacant at the time. It remained a crime scene this morning (November 29).
Paramedics also attended but no patients were involved nor transports required.
