A number of people have been left wounded, with at least two people suffering stab wounds after a late night brawl broke out in a licenced venue in Laidley on Friday night.
Police allege that just before midnight a 23-year-old man became involved in a physical altercation with another patron at the licenced premises on Patrick Street.
The man allegedly turned on another male patron who had tried to intervene.
The 23-year-old allegedly grabbed a nearby wooden implement and struck the man, causing the object to break.
A glass door was smashed after several people then became involved in the disturbance.
A security guard restrained the 23-year-old and attempted to remove him from the venue while he allegedly continued to resist before assaulting the guard.
Police say the man then broke free and went back into the business, where he went into the kitchen and allegedly assaulted another staff member who attempted to restrain him, before grabbing a knife.
Several other people entered the kitchen and attempted to intervene, resulting in the 23-year-old man allegedly stabbing a 26-year-old man in the hand.
The man then allegedly lunged at others, escalating into a physical altercation where a 31-year-old man was stabbed in the arm.
Police attended the scene and restrained the 23-year-old man in the kitchen, who allegedly continued to resist arrest.
A woman and two men were transported to hospital with various non-life-threatening injuries.
The 23-year-old Laidley North man has since been charged with one count each of wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm, wilful damage, obstruct police, enter premises to commit indictable offence, fail to leave licensed premises, commit public nuisance and stealing.
He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
Investigations are continuing.
