A man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a Gailes business at gunpoint earlier this week.
The shocking crime happened at a business in the shopping centre complex on Old Logan Road and Julieanne Street about 5pm on Tuesday.
A Queensland Police spokesman said after a three-day investigation Ipswich detectives charged a 29-year-old Inala man over the terrifying crime.
“Police will allege the man entered the business around 5pm on Tuesday before presenting a firearm towards staff and demanding money,” a police spokesman said.
“The man then fled the scene in an alleged stolen red 2016 Hyundai i30 with registration plates 174YIO.
“The man has since been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.”
Police are still searching for the stolen Hyundai and are appealing for anyone with information about the location of the vehicle to come forward.
The alleged criminal will appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday, January 17.
