An Ipswich man who sexually assaulted a family friend exploded into a rage when his young daughter confronted him.

The Ipswich Redbank Plains sex offender came home on a school day on February 1, when he initiated a heated argument with his young daughter who was playing video games.

The crown said after the child pushed the man he grabbed her by the school uniform collar, popping the buttons and ripping her shirt off during a violent struggle.

The girl pleaded for her father to stop because she was naked, to which he responded that she wasn’t.

“Guess that’s how you like it?” The girl quipped.

The man broke into a rage and grabbed the girl by her throat squeezing tight, and when the girl bent down to pick up her uniform her dad slammed her into a wall by her throat.

“I can’t breathe,” she gasped.

“Good,” he said as he held her to the wall breathless for at least 30 seconds.

Battered and bruised the young girl had a black eye, busted eye blood vessels, small cuts to an arm, and a scratched collarbone.

In 2016 the 46-year-old was charged with two counts of the indecent treatment of a child under 16 and under 12.

The girl he sexually abused had been a friend of his daughters who was having a sleepover at the man’s home.

The man’s legal representation said it was an isolated incident as the dad had no criminal history of violence and had been provoked.

After pleading guilty to choking and suffocation in a domestic violence setting, the man walked free from court.

The sex offender was sentenced to a two-year suspended prison sentence and released on parole.
