Police have released vision of a man who they hope might be able to assist with their investigations after a woman was assaulted and had her car stolen in Ipswich.

At 10.12pm last Friday (May 5) the woman stopped at a Brisbane Rd, Dinmore service station in her white Mazda CX5.

Police will allege a man, who was not known to her, entered her car and assaulted her before driving away, causing the woman to fall out of the car.

The 33-year-old Collingwood Park woman received a head injury and was transported to the Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.

Police later found the Mazda CX5 burnt out in Haigslea today (May 9). The man has not been found.

He is described as being tanned, about 180cm tall with a solid build and was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and black pants.

Anyone who recognises the man or has further information is urged to contact police.
