Goodna man Cameron Rogers, feared missing in floodwaters since last night, has been found alive and well today following a frantic search.
Police made the announcement about 12.45pm today.
Initial information suggests he was found around noon in the Goodna area.
Earlier, emergency services were searching for the Ipswich region man who was believed to have been caught up in floodwaters at Goodna overnight.
Mr Rogers set out about 9pm to try and meet a friend and he never returned home, and his car was inundated in Floodwaters at the Goodna train station.
Concerned family and friends took to social media to try and get help to locate Cameron.
His partner Verity Anne said Mr Rogers was last seen at 5 Woogaroo Street.
“He went back to tidy some things and put our Alpacas in a safe place if you see him please contact me,” she said.
Cameron’s friend, Aaron Isoa pleaded with anyone with information to call triple-0, the SES, or contact him on Facebook.
Chris Greenall reiterated their concerns and pleas.
“My mate Cameron Rogers is currently missing in the Goodna area. He was last seen near Goodna train station. If anyone has any information, please contact police or the SES,” he posted.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the man’s friend called police, although the weather conditions were so bad the search had to be called off last night.
The spokesman said an extensive search had been underway.
“Cameron Rogers and his family evacuated their home in Woogaroo Street,” the spokesman said.
“Around 8.40pm, after returning to the home to retrieve animals, the missing man contacted a friend to meet at the Goodna train station.”
A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said police were leading the search with the assistance of SES.
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said everyone was praying that he was found safe and well.
“We do have a report of a man from Goodna who is missing while trying to make his way back to his home,” she said
“The Police and SES are actively searching for him.”
Goodna was one of the Ipswich regions hardest hit areas with a number of homes and businesses inundated.
Although, the Bremer River is set to peak at midday.
Mayor Harding said “it’s been a long night for us in Ipswich”.
“We are all waking up this morning wanting know, ‘is everyone OK?’ and ‘is it over?’,” he said.
“As at 5.30am the river height at David Trumpy Bridge was 16.62m and we expect it to go to 16.7m. The flood level in 2011 was 19.4m.
“At this stage we have had no reports of loss life - let’s pray this will be the outcome.”
