Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a house fire at Springfield Lakes which saw clouds of smoke billow from the roof on Monday afternoon.

Three fire crews, paramedics, and police rushed to the scene at Chateau St about 12.50pm and arrived 10 minutes later to find smoke issuing from the roof of a single-level brick and tin home.

Firefighters conducted a search of the home and, thankfully, found no occupants.
