Car smashes into man at Collingwood Park causing serious head injuries
A young Ipswich man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing near the Redbank Plaza.

Police are investigating a serious car and pedestrian crash that left a young Ipswich man with serious head injuries.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the man in his mid-20s was walking along a pedestrian crossing near the Redbank Plaza when he was struck by a car.
The man from the Ipswich region was hot with such force he suffered from serious head injuries, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said the man hit by the car at about 1.30pm on Wednesday, January 19, and quickly rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a “serious but stable condition”.
A 41-year old Ipswich woman was driving the Holden Barina that struck the man.
Forensic investigators cordoned off the busy intersection at Smith Road and Collingwood Drive at Rebank Plains and the investigation continues into the cause of the shocking crash.
