Driver killed after trucks collide at Wivenhoe Hill, west of Brisbane
A man has died after two trucks collided on a major highway west of Brisbane, closing a major highway and causing multiple diversions.

A truck driver has died at the scene of a crash where two trucks collided in the Somerset region west of Brisbane on Friday morning.
The 64-year-old man sustained critical injuries in the crash that occurred on the Brisbane Valley Highway at Wivenhoe Hill.
“Preliminary investigations reveal around 8am a small pantech truck was travelling southbound on the Brisbane Valley Highway when a collision occurred at a road-works site with a stationary loaded gravel truck with dog trailer attached,” Queensland Police said.

“The driver of the pantech truck, a 64-year-old Park Ridge man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.”
The driver from the other truck, who was not physically injured, ran to assist the other man, but he could not be saved.
Forensic Crash Investigators will prepare a report for the coroner and are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage capturing the moments leading up to and including the crash to come forward.
Meanwhile, a stretch of the Cunningham Highway was left down to one lane after a semi-trailer truck crashed into a popular Warwick nursery on Friday morning.
