“So we just got a bang on our caravan, people wanted to borrow our car to come and help with the rain – holy s**t, look, there’s a car there stuck,” the guest, named Mel, said.

“There’s a bus moving from the current. Look at the van – it’s actually flooded and moving on its own.”

Guests reported that everyone at the site is safe and accounted for, but water had cut the road leading to and from the park.

“Everyone is out and safe but it’s really damaged. This caravan is about to flip,” Mel said.

“No one really expected this. We just had a storm this morning. This Jayco Expander is moving now – it’s floating.”

Another guest, named Geoff, said the water had begun to go down on Saturday morning.

“The water is starting to go down now and things are starting to be revealed,” Geoff said.

Fellow holidaymaker, Colleen McArthur, shared several photographs of the damage.

“We are most grateful not to be in this section of the park. These poor people’s holidays have been ruined in the middle of the night,” Ms McArthur said.

“The park is closed and we had been told there was no in or out until Monday but we think we’ll be fine to get home tomorrow. “
