A young girl has been significantly injured in a shocking incident where she fell of the quad and was then run over by one of its wheels.
Paramedics were called to the private Kandana property about 5.55pm after the incident, which happened while the primary-school aged girl was riding on the vehicle being driven by her friend.
A LifeFlight spokeswoman said in a media release the back wheel of the quad bike rolled over her chest after she fell.
She was treated for back and chest injuries, including possible broken ribs, and was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
