Young boy hurt in run-in with kangaroo near Glenwood

Paramedics have rushed to a private property between Gympie and Maryborough after a young child was hurt in an incident involving a kangaroo.

A young boy has been taken to hospital after suffering a cut to his arm in early afternoon run-in with a kangaroo at a private Glenwood property on Friday.

Paramedics were called to the property, located near the small township about 30 minutes north of Gympie, just after 3.30pm.

A QAS spokeswoman said the patient, a toddler suffered a “small laceration” in the incident.

He was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.

No details were known about how the child was injured.
