AN ANDERLEIGH woman who crashed into a motorbike rider when she pulled out of her driveway faced Gympie Magistrates Court yesterday on a charge of driving without due care.
Mary Beth Goodair, 35, pleaded guilty to the charge, which came after the Roberts Rd crash on December 24, 2014, left the rider with three broken ribs, a broken collar bone and punctured lung.
The court heard the bike hit the front of her car when the rider swerved to avoid her.
Goodair said she saw the rider before leaving her driveway and after looking the other way; she pulled out.
She said the bike was then coming down the middle of the road and skidded in an uncontrollable way to avoid collision. Magistrate M. Baldwin told Goodair it was her responsibility to make sure the road was clear before entering, and fined the woman $250.
